Have your say on shaping Whangaparāoa Town Centre
Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Chair Julia Parfitt says the local board would like to hear the community’s views on how they see Whangaparāoa’s largest town centre changing and developing.
“This plan aims to support and stimulate growth in and around the town centre to create a vibrant place that everyone can access.
Martyn Coe, chair of the reactivated Residents and Friends of Kinloch Association, said he was concerned that planned subdivisions, such as the Seven Oaks subdivision, do not appear to adhere to guidelines laid out in the Kinloch Community Structure Plan.
The plan was developed by the council and residents in the early 2000s following concerns about the town's growth and its impact on the environment. The plan has a policy framework to help protect waterways and specifies future infrastructure requirements for new subdivisions and developments.
Fletcher out of running on another big-ticket build
"In recent months, Todd Property has held discussions with Fletcher Building over delivery of Ormiston Town Centre," Todd Property managing director Evan Davies said.
"Todd Property is now in discussions with other parties."
This comes shortly after RNZ reported Fletcher had pulled out of tendering to build the tunnels and stations for the Auckland city rail loop.
