Green light for Avondale regeneration plan
The opportunity to revitalise Avondale has been given the green light with the approval of the over-arching plan by Auckland Council’s Planning Committee.
Whau Local Board Chair Tracy Mulholland says the plan builds on significant work completed by the local board and community groups.
“It will drive momentum for change in the area, with a focus on the town centre. The regeneration of Avondale will see current and future residents enjoying new open spaces and a purpose-built community facility, including a new library that will serve its needs,” she says.
Panuku Development buys $2 million property in Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore
Ahead of confirmation of its plan for Takapuna's Anzac St car park, Auckland Council development arm Panuku Development has bought a property backing onto the site for $2 million.
Panuku has confirmed the purchase of 30 Hurstmere Rd, which was completed in June this year.
Project development director Clive Fuhr said the purchase would allow greater flexibility for both public spaces and development outcomes on the council-owned sites along Hurstmere Rd.
"Panuku will investigate opportunities for this property following a decision on whether the change of use of 40 Anzac Street is approved," Fuhr said.
New Auckland settlement to rise on northern outskirts
Infrastructure is being created for a new settlement to be built on Auckland's northern outskirts.
Contracting and development business Fulton Hogan is preparing the site ready for the creation of a new 3500-residential suburb and town centre south-west of Orewa.
Warren Frogley, marketing consultant for the developers, said earthworks were now well under way to create the first and second stages of Auckland's newest suburb, to be called Milldale.
