Proposed state housing development in Hamilton's Flagstaff scaled down

Kāinga Ora has agreed to scale back the size and height of a controversial state housing development in Hamilton’s north-east.

The state housing agency’s decision to reduce the height and number of proposed dwellings for its Endeavour Ave development comes after months of community pushback on the project.

More than 2700 residents signed a petition calling for the Flagstaff project to be halted.

Kāinga Ora’s refined proposal sees the number of dwellings reduced from 70 down to 60. The height of apartment buildings is also capped at two-storeys. The original proposal featured a mix of two- and three-storey blocks.

New four-storey development with apartments, restaurants and cafes planned for Napier

A derelict and earthquake-prone former engineering building near the centre of Napier’s bustling Ahuriri will be demolished and replaced by a couple of four-storey mixed-use apartment/accommodation buildings if a recent proposal gets the council’s green light.

Port View Ltd. is seeking resource consent from Napier City Council to demolish the existing building at 72 West Quay and build a new development across the site and a smaller adjacent site.

Communal cars planned for Auckland apartment village to prevent road congestion

evelopers planning to build 231 apartments on a busy Auckland road hope a car sharing scheme and a lack of private car parks will prevent added traffic congestion.

KBS Capital is seeking resource consent for the $350 million Amaia development, on the 2.1 hectare site of the former Harbourside Church in Takapuna.

Once resource consent is granted, work is expected to begin at the Esmond Rd site in mid-2021 and finish within five years.
