Sir Bob Jones purchases his 18th prime office building in Wellington's CBD

New Zealand property tycoon, Sir Robert Jones, has bought his 18th prime office building in Wellington's CBD with the purchase of Civic Assurance House for an undisclosed sum

Robt. Jones Holdings, owned by Sir Robert, has bought the 10-level, recently strengthened building on Wellington's premier retail strip at 116 Lambton Quay from Civic Financial Services.

RJH signalled a facelift for the building, including large new windows, air conditioning, and free artwork for the occupants.

Government approves 681 new homes near Wanaka

The Government has approved two large housing developments, which will bring 681 new homes to the Wanaka area.

They were the 400-lot Lake Hāwea Special Housing Area (SHA) and the 281-lot Bright Sky SHA, in Wanaka. 

Queenstown Lakes District Mayor Jim Boult said there had been concerns about the proposals, particularly from the Lake Hāwea community.

Auckland monthly housing update July 2019

A summary of statistics for housing in Auckland including:

  • the number of dwellings consented
  • the types of dwellings
  • code compliance certificates issued

July highlights:

  • 1657 dwellings were consented in May 2019.
  • In the year ending May 2019, 13,881 dwellings were consented in the region.
  • 35 per cent of new dwellings consented in May 2019 were houses, 28 per cent were apartments and 37 per cent were townhouses, flats, units, retirement village units, or other types of attached dwellings.
